Sunday, April 19th, 2009 | Stress and Panic Attacks | No Comments

There are many things that you can do to maintain a stress free life but it is entirely up to you and the way you live your life.  The best things that you can do include making good choices, eating right, exercising, and much more.

Stress can come in many forms in the body.  It can make you physically ill through symptoms or even cause you to have heart disease, stroke, seizures, and other problems.  Stress can cause someone to have an inability to sleep well and affect a person in many strange ways.  It is very common for a person to not recognize that stress is the root of the problem they are having and when they can find peace in their life they will eliminate the problem.

One of the biggest things that cause stress in someone’s life is the choices that they make.  When you make choices for your life it is important to choose things that you enjoy.  A good example would be choosing artificial Christmas trees during the holidays.  The holidays are a stressful time anyway.  When you choose things like prelit artificial Christmas trees and you don’t like them at all then this could be a bad and stressful decision.  Choosing Christmas trees that you like will ensure that you feel less stressed.  You are in control of the decisions that you make and you need to be sure that you choose things that make you happy.

Eating right is another thing that you need to have control of if you would like to have less stress in your life.  It is proven that eating the wrong foods can cause you to lose sleep, have some type of an imbalance, and even be stressed out.  An unhealthy diet is the cause for many problems with the body.  It is almost impossible to be a healthy person if the things you consume in your body are not healthy.  Lay off the alcohol, drugs, or any type of suppressant that may put you in an altered state.

Exercising is a great way to relieve stress and make sure that you are healthy. Exercise causes the body to produce the hormones that make someone feel great about them.  This is an endorphin and responsible for making someone feel happy.  When the brain generates this hormone then you are less stressed.  This can be produced naturally through exercise.  Plus, when you exercise your body is healthy which makes you feel good.  No one enjoys being overweight and obese.  Exercise helps maintain a healthy weight.

Monday, August 18th, 2008 | Journaling | No Comments

Journaling is a natural method for stress relief. It has been proven time and time again to be healthy for the mind and the soul to practice journaling. There are many benefits that might make you consider this method to relieve stress. However, there are a few drawbacks as well.

Keeping a diary is the same thing as journaling. You might keep a journal exploring your thoughts and feelings surrounding specific events in your life. For instance, you might be trying to get your green card and slightly stressed about it. Writing is a good outlet for stress management and self exploration. To get the most out of journaling it is important to write about your feelings in depth, cognitions directly related to stressful occurrences. You also might write about how you tried to relieve these stresses such as lighting candles.

There are many benefits of journaling that make this very healthy to relieve stress and manage your stress. It is known to decrease symptoms of asthma, arthritis, and other problems with your health. Cognitive functioning improves in addition to strengthening the immune system. This can prevent many different illnesses. When you practice journaling it is important to be dedicated to the process and practice it every day. You should write every night before you go to bed or in the mornings. You might even carry your journal with you throughout the day.

There are drawbacks to using this method of therapy for relieving stress. This is because some people have learning disabilities and find it very difficult to read and write. Their penmanship may be hard to read or they might have problems focusing on emotions and thoughts as they write. In addition, when some people journal about negative thoughts it actually creates stress in their lives.

There are many ways to manage stress. Some people like to manage their stress through exercising and techniques. Yoga and stretching is favored also. The reason journaling is favored so much is that it provides stress management for people who are physically unable to exercise. It is easy and affordable for people because all they need is a pen and a paper. You don’t need to seek therapy for stress when you journal because it really does help a healing process when you write about your emotions. It does not relieve tensions in your muscles you might have from stress. You will still need to practice other things to loosen up tensions in the body. Bubble baths, saunas, stretching are a few ways to relieve physical tensions.

Of course, there is alternative to this method. Just go and get yourself some mixed martial arts equipment, find a good trainer and go blow off some steam.
